The Meaning of Tanakh

The Tanakh is known as the "Old Testament" to Christians. When Jews refer to "the Bible" - they are referring to the Tanakh. The Tanakh is made up of three sections - 1. Torah 2. Prophets and 3. Writings This is an acronym— TaNaKH—using the initial letters of the three divisions: Torah, Nevi'im, Ketuvim.
